February 7, 2015 Farmers Market

Hello to all of our customers! We had a little break with January having 5 Saturdays in it but we are ready to go now! We hope to see everyone at Tractor Supply this Saturday for Fresh Bread, Jellies, Cookies and more! This is the real deal chicken. I was reading today in a book by Joel Salatin about the chicken industry. These birds are raised in a chicken house that is literally covered with fecal matter. The dust covers everything including the birds. They usually have large respiratory lesions due to the constant breathing of ammonia. It sounded like an awful life. Our birds are in movable chicken tractors with access to clean water, grass and feed 24/7. These birds are never confined and fed antibiotics, hormones, arsenic (this increases their appetite) and artificial light. We hope you enjoy your clean, chemical free chicken from Scoggins Family Farm!!

January 17 Farmers Market

We so miss all of our customers!! Last market was a rain out and we stayed home to enjoy a dreary afternoon reading books and catching up.  We are excited to be back at the market!

Remember this milk is pasteurized and not homogenized.  The animals are antibiotic and hormone free! HillCrest Creamery is a family run business.  Just yesterday I stopped by and Arvin, Lisa, Anna, and Marilyn were in the dairy working away!!

The 19 degree freeze took most of the broccoli and cabbage.  We are planting this week but vegetables are not plentiful on the farm in this weather.

We have Fresh Butchered Free Range Chickens available also!  No Antibiotics, No Hormones, Nothing!!  Just fresh, clean, chicken!!

December 6th Farmers Market

The end of the year draws near and Christmas is right around the corner!!  We are excited to offer our customers ideas for their Christmas Gifts.  Our wide selection of Canned Goods and Honey make the perfect gifts for those who have it all!  We suggest gift baskets loaded with down home goodness!  All of our canned goods are made with fresh produce and vegetables at their peak of ripeness.

We will be taking orders for FRESH FREE RANGE CHICKENS also.  These birds have never been given antibiotics, chemicals, bleached or chemically treated.  Google commercial chicken butchering and look at what your store bought chickens are full of.  You get a true weight bird that hasn't been injected with saline to make it look more plump and weigh more.  These birds have been hand raised, butchered and packaged by our own family.  You can trust that they are Fresh, Clean, and Healthy!!  Our chickens sell for #3.25/lb.  Call 526-6760 or 725-6364 and place an order.


We will also have live rabbits for sale at the market.  Thanks to all of our customers!  We pray you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are preparing for a joyous celebration of our Savior's Birthday!  I pray we all consider the reason for this season. Jesus Christ!

October 18th Farmers Market

I can't believe I forgot to make a post on this Farmers Market!!! I'm running on very little sleep these days.  Ruston is a hungry big guy who likes to eat all night minus a 4 hour gap from 10 pm to 2 am!  We had a great market.
New to our tables this week was:

October 4th Farmers Market

We are excited to announce the birth of Ruston Lee Scoggins. He was born on September 30, 2014.  He weighed 9 lb 3 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long. We thank everyone for their prayers!  We will have a skeleton crew this weekend but the market will continue on. We hope you see you there!
